This Saturday,
Sam and I hosted a Derby party complete with the finest Derby platters, Derby pie, and of course, Derby hats.

It was special getting to dust off one of the many hats my mother wore to Derby back in the 90’s. It’s curious to see how as I get older, my mother’s face starts to stare back at me in the mirror.
Do you ever get that feeling?
Hosting a great Derby party requires festive party-goers who aren’t afraid to dress to the nines for the event.
I passed around mint juleps first thing, in their quintessential pewter Derby cups. That way, the bourbon’s flowing and so is the conversation.
