My birthday! Sam surprised me all day with airbnb experiences.
We enjoyed some cichettas, or Venetian tapas, as part of a morning private city tour.
We ate various marinated bacala (cod) on polenta, fried shrimps, and meat pastries.
We then toured the neighborhoods of Venice, seeing what our guide called historical places turned modern.

In the evening, I was surprised with a cooking class starring gnocchi and tiramisu from scratch.
I’m an expert now. 😉
Fransesco, our chef and teacher, daylights as a wooden shipmaker in Venice.
It was a delicious birthday.
