A quick look at the map and a trek in the shuttle took our family to the world famous hikes in Zion National Park, UT.
Up on top of the canyon at observation point, we hiked up a 2,100 foot elevation gain.
I like to stay in shape, but hiking up a mountain 5,000 feet above the Florida Keys’ 3 foot sea level elevation was a REAL challenge.
Zion National Park was established in 1919 as a nature reserve with steep red cliffs, emerald pools, and well known to have one of the best hikes in the world – The Narrows.

We found cute little chipmunks on top of the canyon, begging tourists for sips of water or fallen nuts.
It’s amazing how close those little guys would get to me.
