I’ve included a few oldies but goodies. Here are the books that buzzed my brain recently…
The Life Changing Method of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, by Marie Kondo
Call it channeling my inner Nana, but I’ve gotten such home satisfaction and peace of mind by applying this book’s tidying methods to our home space. In purging my home of the items that Marie teaches “do not bring joy,” I feel that I own even more. I can clearly see the clothing that looks best to me, the items that speak to my soul, bring my life joy. The tidying has put my heart at ease, my career goals in mind, my pursuits in focus.
Marie Kondo is absolutely crazy – the author used to throw away her sibling’s belongings in order to organize her childhood home. But she knows what she’s talking about, and our home and marriage have benefited form the results!

Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling
Although I always found her voice particularly irritating while watching the voice, I am awe-inspired by a woman, and a minority, who has her own published books, TV show, and international fame. She is grounded, struggles with feeling like everyone else is cool when she’s not, and has top notch recommendations that basically say, Yes I deserve this. I worked hard. This book is about being your authentic you, and being okay with making mistakes and following your dreams.
(Who doesn’t love Mindy Kaling!? Easy beach read)
One More Thing, by Bj Novak
I guess I’ve been missing The Office lately. My book club listened to the audiobook version of this, which is just amazing because it includes readings by Rainn Wilson, Katy Perry, and of course Mindy Kaling.
This book is just a collection of hilarious, slightly offensive short stories of fiction that grab your attention and keep you laughing.
