Day 7: Athens for 24 hours

I loved Athens; the well fed cats, the much improved street cleanliness compared to Rome, our impeccable airbnb, the walkability of all the major historical sights. Athens is cool, man. I wish we could have stayed a few days here instead.

Sam orating like Apostle Paul on Mars Hill.

My dollar stretched further here. For the same price as our others airbnbs, we got a whole apartment to ourselves equipped with all the bells and whistles, and right in the city center.

Fresh squeezed OJ was .50€ cheaper, you could get a 5€ full breakfast. Cheaper cappuccinos. Cheers!

Cats.

We of course walked up the Acropolis to see the Parthenon and its surrounding temples. The city on the hill.

One of our favorite parts: gigantic desserts afterwards at Little Kook, a Mary Poppins themed spectacle of a cafe.

I love Athens, we are going back this September. Your second picture, with the steps, where is that at? It looks like an awesome spot. I enjoyed all of your pictures.

Thank you! Those were the steps up Mars Hill, or Aeropagus. As you do the long climb up towards the ticket gate for the acropolis, its about 100 meters before the ticketed entrance.

Ok. I know where you’re talking about. Aeropagus is on our list for September. We did the Acropolis last year and ran out of time! Thank you for the information I appreciate it!!
